Performance Analysis: All We Ever Wanted Was Everything by Luke Barnes and Middle Child

I undertook an eight hour trip to Hull to catch some shows as part of the city’s tenure as the UK City of Culture in 2017. Here’s some reflections on Middle Child’s All We Ever Wanted Was Everything, an energetic follow-up to their previous collaboration with Luke Barnes: Weekend Rockstars.

Performance Analysis: The Hypocrite by Richard Bean

This week I headed up to Stratford-upon-Avon to catch the Royal Shakespeare Company, Hull Truck and Hull City of Culture 2017’s production of The Hypocrite by Richard Bean. Directed by Phillip Breen and starring Mark Addy and Caroline Quentin in the lead roles this was a very enjoyable watch and, I think, tells us an awful lot about the English Revolution, some of its successes but mainly its failures.

Performance Analysis: Pink Mist by Owen Sheers

This week, I headed up to Birmingham to catch Bristol Old Vic’s production of Pink Mist by Owen Sheers on its UK Tour.

As always, here something of a performance analysis of the play. If you have been watching and enjoying my YouTube videos then please do feel free to send over any feedback you may have and, of course, do subscribe!

Narvik by Lizzie Nunnery – Performance Analysis

A little while back I headed up to Leeds for the Theatre and Performance Research Association‘s postgraduate symposium. While there, I popped across to Manchester to see Box of Trick‘s production of Narvik by Lizzie Nunnery at HOME.

As will hopefully become usual, I’ve condensed my thoughts on the show into video form which can be watched above or over on my YouTube channel.

600 Highwaymen’s The Record – Performance Analysis

I’m currently attempting to revive my YouTube channel and vlog with some thoughts both on writing, the various shows I’m currently making and my PhD.

First up is some thoughts on 600 Highwaymen’s The Record, a piece I recently caught at Bristol Old Vic as part of In Between Time.
